Dance! Sing! Dismantle white supremacy!

Dear friends of Libertroph,

We love to gather. And, thankfully, it turns out that you seem to love gathering with us too!

Just came off the Issue 2 Launch party...what a humble, loving and powerful space to be a part of.

Every time I engage with your events and magazine I am so aware of being in the right place at the right time.

The Libertroph release party was really powerful, inspiring, and soul-nourishing.

We also found the digital launch party to be loving, powerful, soul-nourishing, and much more… We were moved by the active participation of attendees and your willingness to lovingly struggle together through the complex layers of white lineage.

We love to gather because to gather is to be in community, to co-create rituals, to laugh, to be vulnerable, and to build culture. Libertroph has always been a cultural organizing effort, and gathering connects us as accomplices in the struggle to end racism and co-create a new culture that values care and safety for all.

If you’re excited about co-creating with the Libertroph community, save the date to join us on Saturday, Nov 21, in New York City for our Issue 02 Print Debut Party 🤩 🌀 🎶 There will be art, dialogue, music and connection. RSVP here to stay in the loop.

Remember: you can still become a Libertroph Member. Sign up as a member here to ensure your copy of Lineage is accounted for when we go to print. In the Lineage Issue print edition, you’ll see an ad from Voqal Partners. They are accepting applications for their Fellowship until October 31, and we would love to see someone from the Libertroph community receive the artistic support! Check it out.

The rest of 2026 is very exciting for the Libertroph community:

  • 🖨️ Wrapping up Issue 02 print design and sending it to print

  • 📝 Print Debut Party planning

  • 🤩 Two more events that we’ll be announcing soon

  • 🙊 A new conversation series

  • 👀 Issue 03 theme reveal/ call for submissions

Thank you for being part of the journey! We really can’t wait to nurture our collective humanity with you at the Lineage Issue Print Debut Party on November 21 — to be in critical dialogue, to deepen relationships, and, of course, to sing and dance together. 👯‍♂️

Just as surely as birds evolved to fly, humans evolved to sing and to dance, in part, because like story, song and dance bond us together, help us move through emotions, develop trust, and transform fear into courage and lethargy into energy. These elements of human nature, which are so beautiful and which deserve to be cherished and embraced, have also been central to our survival. So, too, has been the intergenerational transmission of these practices. Just as we need justice movements to have a deeper relationship with ancestry, history and story, we need movements that embrace the human orientation towards song and dance… as so many of the Civil Rights Movement elders I’ve interviewed have testified.
